BURNT MARK research

Different types of burnt skin

I have been researching different types of burnt skin and what happened to the person prior to the burn. Below is a set of examples of real burnt areas of the skin starting with a branding, a lightning burn, and a more serious looking burn that may have been from fire.

Burnt skin texture

Getting the right texture when creating a burnt area of skin is important as I want the prosthetic to look real. Below is a selection of images I have chosen that I think have a good/similar texture to the texture of a burnt mark. As my burn happened already and what I will be creating is the aftermath, I want to get the texture f the skin right; the texture may be hard, rough, wrinkly, lumpy and flakey.
